Coronavirus: Is the UK testing enough people?

How many tests is the UK doing?

The UK is now carrying out about 10,000 tests each day. This involves about 7,000 people because some people need more than one test. The government hopes to carry out 25,000 tests a day by mid-April.
According to the latest figures, 127,737 people in the UK have been tested for coronavirus so far.
The majority of these tests have been on seriously ill hospital patients with symptoms of the virus.
